For this franken I used:
2. Wet N Wild Mega Shine - Blazed ( really nice summer colour)
3. Wet n Wild Mega Shine - French White Creme
4. Color Madmic - Pumpkin ( got this at a random beauty supply store, I wouldn't not recommend it lol)
Salmon Polish Recipe:
- 1 Part WnW Blazed
- 3-5 Parts White
- 1 Part : Essie - Forget Me Nots ( depends on how pink you want it)
- 1 Part : Color Madmic - Pumpkin ( depends on how orange you want it)
First off, I reused a China Glaze base coat bottle for this polish. The bottle is frosted, so the colour shown in the bottle is not true to the colour inside. :( Also, you can see a faint orange splotch in the bottle. This is from the colours starting to separate after sitting for a few days.
I started off with just adding white to Blazed because I thought it would make a nice coral colour. However, it was just turned to a light dirty orange. I added Essie for some pink tones to it, but of course got all excited and added too much LOL. So, I added 'Pumpkin' in to bring back the orange tones. Yes, the orange colour IS flourescent. I worked with what I had, and I only had ONE orange. :(. So yeah, I would suggest to use a non-flourescent orange if you have it.
I was going for making a dupe for Essie - Van D Go (not my photo) :
If I keep adding more white I would eventually get to a really good dupe for this colour. However I like the colour now, I might add more white later on. :)
Left swatch has more white than right swatch. It takes quite a lot of white in order to make a pastel colour from a regular creme colour. I wouldn't use any high end white polish to franken things.
The consistency of the polish isn't the best. I have to do around 2-3 coats of it to get a nice opaque colour. I think it's because the white polish I used was thin ( not as opaque), so it kind of waters down the formula. However, I didn't spend any additional money on polishes, so I'm pretty content with the outcome. :)
