Review: Posh Retractable Kabuki

I've heard great reviews on the Posh Kabuki Brush so I decided to go to the store and buy myself one. I found initially wanted to get the kabuki brush but it was 16 dollars with the leatherette case. Now, I was there with my mother, and my mother is the typical stingy asian mother, so she'd be totally outraged that i'd buy a brush for 20 dollars (including tax) so i decided to go with the cheaper retractable kabuki instead. Which was 12 dollars. I know, not much of a different but it'd be better for me in the long run because i'd be able to bring it with me on travel.

I was considering getting the Blunt Cut Mineral Brush ( around $10) after watching pincstuff's review on it. But when I felt/saw it at the store ( I opened up the packaging, lol. It was the 'zipplock' type seal) It was really small but it felt like butter! The diameter was between the size of a nickel or quarter, which totally discouraged me. I decided on the kabuki instead because i thought it'd give better coverage

The retractable kabuki can be bought online for $30 here. Which is a bit much for a brush. I found my brush at Rexall, btw.

The brush is really soft and is not scratchy at all. The Brush itself is dense, but i'd prefer denser. The brushes are a kind of magogany on the exterior bristols and the interior bristles are black. I was kind of scared that the dye from the outter bristles would bleed, but they did not!

The packaging is uber cute and convienient. The exterior is Black, and has a red center where the cap comes off. It says 'Posh' on one side of the outside and ' Retractable Kabuki' on the other side. When you take off the cap, you just pull down the red 'cover' and reveal the brush. and when you are done, you slife the red cover back up and put the cap on. Easy!

The brush picked up the product quite well and distributes it evenly and nicely. It is great for if you just want to dust on translucent powder or loose powder foundation ( which is what i use it for)

When i washed the brush after a week of use, it had a 'wet animal' smell which was kinda of weird, but it's not strong unless you stick your nose into it and smell. It shed a few bristles at first ( maybe 3-4 single bristles) but it stops after the 2nd or 3rd wash.

Overall I think this brush is great for on the go, and apply powder.

Packaging: 9/10
Quality: 8/10
Overal: 8/10
